Why We Built This Site
Arkansas provides several forms of public criminal-record access, but no single Logan County office owns every part of a person's record. The sheriff publishes current and released jail information. A city police department retains the incident report its officers created. Circuit Court handles felony case files, while District Court handles many misdemeanors, traffic matters, city violations, and lower-level proceedings. The Arkansas State Police Identification Bureau, supported by the Arkansas Crime Information Center, maintains the state repository. The Arkansas Department of Corrections and Arkansas Sex Offender Notification System serve different, later or specialized purposes.
Bringing the official routes into one reference point helps readers avoid asking the sheriff for a court pleading or asking a court clerk for a city police report. It also keeps Booneville, Paris, and the county's smaller communities tied to the proper county and state systems.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency routes: contacts and official tools for sheriff, court, city, repository, corrections, and registry records
- Record guides: explanations of the county's court case lookup, arrest search, and sex offender lookup channels
- Request details: the fields, office roles, access limits, and known fees documented by official sources
- Arkansas procedures: official background-check paths and basic information about petitions to seal qualifying records
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of Logan County, an Arkansas court, a police department, or a state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- It cannot retrieve an official criminal record or conduct an Arkansas background check for a visitor
- It cannot submit Arkansas Freedom of Information Act requests or petitions to seal a case
- It cannot produce certified court files, booking records, or state criminal-history responses
- It cannot provide legal advice or interpret how a law affects an individual matter
- It cannot promise that an office's address, hours, phone, or fee has not changed
An official or certified record must come from its custodian, such as the Logan County Sheriff's Office, the proper court clerk, or the Arkansas State Police Identification Bureau.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. Those businesses control their own results, terms, enrollment, and prices. A referral may produce revenue that supports free access to this reference material. Logan County Criminal History does not control a provider's charges or the contents of its search response. These tools are not substitutes for an official Arkansas agency record and may not be used for a purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
